Why Choose Silly Creek Water Sports?
After many trips to Turks and Caicos, we know the value of a private boat tour, and this one did not disappoint. The crew at Silly Creek made us feel like part of their family from the moment we stepped on board.
What we loved about Silly Creek Water Sports was how easygoing and flexible the whole experience felt. From the moment we met Cynthia and LJ at Southside Marina, it was clear they were focused on making the day whatever we wanted it to be. Whether you’re looking to snorkel, cliff jump, wakeboard, go tubing or just cruise along and enjoy the views, they’ve got you covered.
For us, it wasn’t about squeezing in every activity, it was about taking our time, chatting with friends, and enjoying the views. Private boat charters in Turks and Caicos really let you set the pace, which is perfect if you’re traveling with a group that has different interests.
We were also happy to see that Silly Creek Water Sports genuinely care about keeping the environment clean, especially in such a beautiful, luxury destination like Turks and Caicos. They ensure all guests use reef safe sunscreen to protect the coral and marine life, and instead of disposable plastic cups, they encourage you to bring reusable water bottles on board. It’s clear they’re doing their part to keep the islands in tip top shape by taking a few easy extra steps.
If you’re looking for an awesome private boat charter in Turks and Caicos, where you can tailor the day to your liking, Silly Creek Water Sports is a solid choice. You can make it as adventurous or as relaxing as you want, which was perfect for us.

The Private Charter Experience – Our Day On The Water
Private boat tours in Turks and Caicos are the best way to explore the island from a completely different angle. With Silly Creek Water Sports, the day is truly yours to enjoy at your own pace. Whether you’re looking to visit hidden cays, snorkel with marine life, or just relax and enjoy the view, a private boat charter offers the flexibility to make the experience your own.
Boarding At Southside Marina
We kicked off our day by meeting Cynthia and LJ at the Southside Marina. They immediately made us feel welcome and gave us a rundown of the day ahead. Safety protocols were a priority, and they also double checked that we had our safe sunscreen. Luckily, we came prepared, but they had extra on hand for anyone who needed it. With no fixed itinerary, we were free to sit back and let the pros decide how the day would unfold.
Heading Out Into The Open Sea
After leaving the marina, we set off into the stunningly clear Gatorade blue waters that the south side of Providenciales is known for. The conditions were a little choppy that day, but the weather didn’t put a damper on the fun. The sun was blazing and we were ready for our adventure!
Not long after we set out, we made a quick detour to rescue a rogue beach ball that had drifted from the shore. A friendly reminder from our 26 essential tips post is to keep hold of those floaties at all times so they don’t end up like this beach ball! With a bit of skillful maneuvering from LJ, we retrieved it and continued on our way, laughing and cheering for LJ’s big save!

Bay Cay – A Nature Reserve And Iguana Sanctuary
Our first stop was Bay Cay, a small, remote cay that also serves as an iguana and nature reserve. As we pulled up to the shore, Cynthia filled us in on the Cay’s famous residents, Tyrone and Annabelle, the leaders of this iguana tribe!
From the small sandy shore where we dropped anchor, we made our way up the rocky embankment. Thankfully, it wasn’t steep at all, making it manageable for everyone in our group. That said, we’d definitely recommend wearing water shoes as the rocks can be a bit sharp.

Sure enough, as we stepped along the rocky embankment, Tyrone and Annabele were there to greet us, curious to see why we were on their island. To keep the iguana population strong, this cay serves as a safe space for these little guys who are so important to these Islands. Seeing these iguanas in their natural habitat was such an awesome experience. If you’re an animal or nature lover, you’ll love a stop at Bay Cay.

Once we reached the higher levels of the Cay (don’t worry, we’re not talking a hike or anything, just a short stroll), we were treated to an incredible 360 degree view of those turquoise waters stretching endlessly in all directions. Such a stunning spot and one we’d never been to before.

Another cool feature of Bay Cay is a small hole in the rocks that, when the waves hit just right, sprays a mist resembling dragon’s breath. We had a lot of fun watching and waiting for this to happen, adding a bit more fun and excitement to start the day.

Exploring Split Rock And Pirates Cove
After Bay Cay, we made our way to Split Rock and Pirates Cove, two must see spots for anyone visiting Turks and Caicos. Pirates Cove, in particular, is a historic lookout once used by real pirates, and you can still see ancient carvings in the rocks dating back to the 1800s.

Cynthia made sure to remind us how important it is to respect these sites, as they are a part of the island’s history. Unfortunately, not everyone has been as respectful, so if you visit, please leave everything as you found it.

Pulling up alongside Split Rock, we slowed the motors and drifted around to the other side, where we pulled into a stunning small beach at the base of the cliff. We anchored here and made our way into an open cave known as Pirates Cove. It was like something from a movie! You could see where this was a great hiding spot for Pirates, so secluded yet having access to the top of the cliffs thanks to a giant hole in the top of the cave.

This is where we climbed the ladder to the top of Split Rock, and wow, the views were incredible! Cynthia and LJ guided us along (safely) and pointed out the pirate carvings etched into the rocks again sharing all their wisdom.

We were happy to explore the area for a little while, taking in all the history and being mesmerized by the views.

Once we finished with the never ending scenery, we had two options to get back down to the boat. Either take a leap from the top of the cliff into the water or climb back down using the ladder. We all had a quick inner reminder of our birthdates and opted for the ladder. It’s a thrilling option for anyone feeling adventurous, and we can see why it’s a popular choice for thrill seekers on calmer days.

Into The Mangroves Of Fisherman’s Creek
After leaving Pirates Cove, we slowed things down as we entered the peaceful waters of Fisherman’s Creek, a shallow nature reserve only accessible by boats like Silly Creek’s. Their jet boats allowed us to glide into these narrow estuaries without disturbing the delicate marine environment.

As we cruised through, we spotted so many starfish and baby turtles, all in their natural habitat. It was a quiet, calming part of the day and a great way to see a side of Turks and Caicos that many visitors don’t experience. It was really exciting for us to be so far removed from the popular hang outs in and around Providenciales.
Snorkeling At An Exclusive Spot
As we headed off, we stopped just outside the Creek for a quick snorkeling session. The water here is only accessible via private boat tours, making it a prime spot to see marine life without the crowds.

Byron and Mark headed into the water and spotted stingrays, colorful fish, and even an eagle ray gliding by. Tina and I were happy to stay on board and chat with Cynthia and LJ and hear their stories from over the years of being in the charter business. It was so awesome to hear how devoted they are to their love of these gorgeous islands.
A Fun Ride Back Through Silly Creek
After an unforgettable day exploring these remote areas, it was time to head back, but Cynthia made sure the fun wasn’t over yet.
As we entered Silly Creek, an inlet on the south side of Providenciales near Chalk Sound, we passed by Emerald Cay, a massive private villa sitting on its own island. It was something else! Completely secluded and luxurious, a sight you don’t often get to see up close.

Once we were through Silly Creek, the boat picked up speed, and it suddenly felt like we were part of a Miami Vice scene! The wind in our hair, the waves splashing against the sides of the boat, it was the perfect way to end the day with a bit of a thrill! Even though the ride was exciting, we always felt safe with Cynthia guiding the boat smoothly through the choppy waves.
At one point, we slowed down to take in the view at Turtle Rock, a rock that yes, you guessed it, looks like a turtle! It’s a stunning spot we’ll definitely want to snorkel next time.
It was a perfect reminder that no matter how many times you visit, there’s always more to discover in Turks and Caicos.

The End Of A Perfect Day On The Water
Our private boat tour with Silly Creek Water Sports was definitely a day to remember, not just because of the beautiful sights, but because of the incredible crew. We truly felt like we made great friends with Cynthia and LJ. They made the experience so much fun. we truly didn’t want the day to end.
We shared laughs, told stories, and felt completely at ease the entire time. Whether you want to pack your day with water sports or take it easy (like we did), they’ll make sure your day is exactly what you want it to be.
For us, this tour was all about enjoying the moment and appreciating the unique beauty of Turks and Caicos. Silly Creek Water Sports made sure every part of the day was tailored to our group, leaving us with unforgettable memories and a deeper connection to the islands.
