That’s a question we were asked A LOT when we first started visiting the islands. Even today and many trips later, it’s a question many people still ask. Where is Turks and Caicos?
It’s a question that should give you a little insight as to why we’re so passionate about Turks and Caicos. If people must ask where it is, safe to say it’s a pretty quiet, hustle and bustle free zone. EXACTLY the kind of place we were looking for!
So, where IS Turks and Caicos? The Turks and Caicos Islands are a little piece of Caribbean paradise southeast of Miami (575 miles to be exact) and north of Haiti and The Dominican Republic.
Turks and Caicos is an archipelago of approximately 40 islands! Who knew!? Consisting of eight larger islands and many small cays, this British Overseas Territory sits alongside the tropical Atlantic Ocean. The worlds third largest barrier reef rests just a mile off shore creating the most beautiful, calm, turquoise water you’ve ever seen.

The Island of Providenciales hosts the international Airport (PLS) and this is where we spend most of our time. On this Island…..not the airport… HA! “Provo” as the locals call it, is about 38 square miles, roughly 23 miles long and about 4 miles wide. Providenciales is the most developed of the eight inhabited islands in Turks and Caicos, but don’t let that stop you from exploring the other islands!
Enough of all these facts and history session. Let’s get on to the good stuff! We’ll be sure to show you as much of this beautiful country as we possibly can through our videos, photos and podcasts.
